The Giant’s Causeway is located along the sea coast on the edge of the Antrim plateau in Northern Ireland. The area consists of around 40,000 polygonal columns of layered basalt. The formation of this area was due to the eruption of an ancient volcano, around 50-60 million years ago. This World Heritage Site is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland.
